    There will be speakers from the ACLU, FAMM, Abolitionist Law Center, Shut Down Berks, and others talking about the efforts to get people out of county jails, state prisons, and ICE detention. We will provide up-to-date info on what is happening and what we need to do to keep people safe.

    Screening of Emma Restrepo's short film "Change: Expanding the Concept of Justice in Kensington" and some other short films about the human impact of violence and long-term incarceration on Pennsylvania's Latinx communities. The films all look at people on both sides of violence--as both perpetrators and victims--and ask if the current criminal justice system best serves them and community interests. The screening will be followed by a panel made up of Latinx people who have served long prison sentences and people whose families have been on both sides of violence.
